Ruth E. Myers, 79, of Oakland City, passed away Friday July 15, 2011 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakland City.

Born May 6, 1932 in Vincennes, she was the daughter of Homer and Ruth (Blakely) Wilson.

Survivors include a son,  Mark (Claudette) Arnold of Francisco; daughter, Vickie (Ed) Bates of Mt. Vernon, Ill.;  grandchildren, Darin, Jason, Jon, Dale and Jay Bates, Darla Kurtz, Ray Reckelhoff, Josh Arnold; great-grandchildren,  Kaila, Kecia, Karlie Bates, Trevor Kurtz, Alyssa and Nate Reckelhoff.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Roy Wilson; and husband, Lewis Myers on Oct. 4, 2004.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday July 19, 2011 at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Mt.Zion Cemetery near Monroe City.

Visitation will from 10 a.m. until the service hour on Tuesday at the chapel.
