Harry Earl Young, 76, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Deaconess Hospice Center in Evansville. 

Born March 3, 1935 in Evansville, he was the son of John and Gladys (Pate) Young.

He lived in Somerville since 1988 moving there from Evansville. He was a heavy equipment operator, a member of Operating Engineers Union Local 181 and the Pilgrim Holiness Church of Evansville.

Survivors include his wife Jeanette to whom he married in 1952; four children, Trina Schaefer of Elberfeld, Tim Young of Hatfield, John Young of Somerville, Kaye Durbin of Evansville, Cheryl Gates of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; two brothers, Richard and Claude Young both of Evansville; a sister, Edith Wilford of Evansville; 20 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren,

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joyce Hyde; and one granddaughter.

 Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with the Rev Rob Loper officiating.  Burial will follow in the Somerville Cemetery. 

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home.
