Martina Jo Selby, 88 of Princeton, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Gibson General Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility
in Princeton.
She was born Jan. 16, 1923 in Oakland City.
She graduated from Francisco High School in 1942, and lived in Princeton since 1944. She was a nurses aid at Gibson General Hospital for 23 years.
She was a member of the VFW Post 1147
Ladies Auxiliary. Martina loved spending time with her family and
friends. She and her husband loved traveling the U.S. and wintering in Florida at Daytona Beach after retirement.
She is survived by her daughter and
son-in-law, Susan and Bill Poyner of Fort Branch; two grandchildren, Jaymie
(Mike) Jackson of Avon, John (Erin) Poyner of Hanover; and
three great grandchildren, Maxwell, Delaney and Addison Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, Mary and Cecil Loveless; her husband of 47 years, John Selby; and two
step-brothers, Jimmy and Bobby Loveless.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor George Prinzing officiating.
Burial will be at the Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Colvin Funeral Home.
