Shirley A. Young, 74, passed away Saturday May 7, 2011 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.

Born June 22,1936 in Brazil, she was the daughter of William Michael and Grace (Hamm) LeClair.

She was a teacher in the East Gibson School Corp. for several years, and earned her masters degree with a special education endorsement.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, John Young Of Oakland City; daughters,  Pam (Phil) Glover of Evansville, Linda (Rick) Waxler of Jupiter, Fla.; son, Johnny (Judy) Young of Smithville, Ky.; sister, LaDonna (Mike) Choucalas of Capella, Texas five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

 A private graveside service will take place at a later date in Somerville Cemetery.

 Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
