Dixie L. Witt, 91 passed away Friday May 27, 2011 at the Gibson General Hospital in Princeton,

She was born in LaGrange, Ill. April 22, 1920.

She was a registered nurse since 1970 after receiving her L.P.N. in 1967. She last worked for Owensville Convalescent Center not retiring until she was 85 years old and previously worked for Forest Del Nursing Home and Gibson General Hospital. Dixie lived in Princeton since 1951 moving here from Indianapolis.  She enjoyed genealogy and when she was younger loved to sew.

 She is survived by three children, Betty and Ike Farris of Princeton, Carolyn “Rusty” and Frank Coulter of Somerville, Jeffrey Witt of Princeton;  three grandchildren, Shane Cansler, Nikki (Nick Powell) Cansler, Brittney (Josh) Hunt; and three great-grandchildren, Brehanna Farris, Jessi Cansler and Layney Conder.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton, with the Rev. Lisa Schubert officiating.  Burial will follow the services. 

Those attending the services are asked to meet at the cemetery. Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton is handling the arrangements.
