Verna Lynn Williams, 74 of Oakland City, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2011, at her home. She was born in Gibson County on February 20, 1937 to Kenneth H. and Wanda M. (Harper) Hale.

She retired from Whirlpool Corporation in 1997.

She is survived by 2 sons: Mitchell Williams, Oakland City, IN and Scott Parks, Kansas; 2 sisters: Pamela D. Coberly, Spurgeon, IN and Arlene Sharp, Oakland City, IN; 2 brothers: William Franklin Hale, Evansville, IN and Kenneth Allen Hale, Rockport, IN; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Stella Mae Hale.

Private family services will be held with burial in Francisco I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Francisco, IN. Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City is handling the arrangements.
