Gerald A. Schleter, 80, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2011 at home.

Born Oct. 27, 1930 in Princeton, he was the son of Wilfred and Dona (Perry) Schleter.

He was an insurance agent for State Farm Insurance for 43 years. He enjoyed beekeeping, gardening, and fishing. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife Nita (Davidson) Schleter; four children, David A. Schleter of Fort Branch, Dr. Harvey A. Schleter of Somerset, Ky., Robert A. Schleter of Francisco, Frederick A. Schleter of Fort Branch; a brother, Henry Schleter of Fort Branch; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Lewis Schleter.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2011 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Snake Run with Father Tony Ernst and Deacon Steve Hall officiating. Stodghill Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
