Bernice B. Peed, 94, passed away Friday, April 1,
2011 at The Waters of
Princeton.
She was born June 26, 1916 in Gibson County to Robert and Anna (Hunt) Brittingham.
She was a lifetime resident of Gibson County and resided in Princeton since 1937. She was a housewife. She was a
graduate of Ball State Teacher’s College and taught sixth grade at Lowell School from 1937-40. She was the record librarian at Gibson General Hospital from 1944-45 and gave private piano lessons for 14
years. Bernice worked with her husband in the Peed Insurance Agency for
several years. She was a former member of both Memorial Methodist Church and Our Saviour Lutheran
Church.
Bernice is survived by her daughter,
Elizabeth A. Peed of Princeton; a sister, Bertha B. Garrett of South Bend; a brother, Bret Brittingham
of Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her
parents; her husband, Charles W. Peed in 1975; and three brothers, Frank, Ottis and Bert Brittingham.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2011
at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor Daniel Payton officiating. Burial
will be at Warnock Cemetery in Princeton. There will be no graveside services.
Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. Tuesday at Colvin Funeral Home.
