Marie M. Houston, 93, passed away Monday, April 18, 2011 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton. 

Born Aug. 19, 1917 in Haubstadt, she was the daughter of Henry and Rose (Greubel) Wolfe. 

She resided in Haubstadt her life.  Marie worked at Chrysler-Briggs in Evansville during World War II.   She retired from Salms Clothing Store in Evansville.

 Marie was a lifetime member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and a member of The Haubstadt Investment Club.

She is survived by her son, Larry Wolfe of Haubstadt; one granddaughter, Karlene Wolfe of Michigan City; one sister, Stella Rueger of Evansville;  and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Houston in 1982; a sister, Jeanie Speer; three brothers, August, Norman “Luke” and Raymond Wolfe; and her daughter-in-law, June Wolfe.  

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Wade Funeral Home, 119 S. Vine St., in Haubstadt with Father Tony Ernst as  the celebrant.  Burial will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery. 

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. A Rosary service will take place at 6:30 p.m. Friends may also call from 10 a.m. until the service hour on Thursday at the funeral home.
