Marvin “Max” Gentry, 78, of Fort Branch, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2011 at the Indiana University Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis.
Born May 4, 1932, in Los Angeles, Calif., he was the son of Ralph and Maxine (Gwaltney) Gentry.
Max was a retired tool and die maker
employed at Faultless Caster and Industrial Tool and Die in Evansville. Additionally, he served 38 years in the Indiana
National Guard, retiring as a sergeant major.
Survivors include sons, Jeff Gentry of
Frederick, Md., Tony Gentry of Fort Branch; a daughter,
Julia Rae Gentry, of Fort Branch; a brother, Ralph Gentry of Lafayette; three
sisters, Jane Gentry Shackelford of Owensville, Judi Gentry Wilkerson of
Brownsburg, Jill Gentry Larson of Princeton; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 40
years, Thelma (Klusmeier) Gentry; a son, James
Bradley Gentry; daughter, Pamela June Gentry; sister, Joy Anne (Gentry) Wilhite; and a brother,
Robert Allen Gentry.
A celebration of the life of will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2011 at St. Stephens Church in Warrenton with Dr James
Cramer, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Military
services will be conducted at the graveside on Friday by the Indiana National
Guard.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Stodghill Funeral Home
in Fort Branch.
