Dennis Jan Staley, 72, of Evansville, passed away on Monday, Feb. 7, 2011 at home. 

Born Oct. 23, 1938 in Vincennes, he was the son of Erskine and Esther (Reynolds) Staley.

On July 18, 1958, he married Louann Smith in North Manchester. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Evansville and was an original member of the Road Earl’s Car club. 

He was a mechanic with McGarrah Dodge for 20 years and also worked and retired from the Kingsburg coal mine after 20 years of service. He served in the United States Air Force.

Survivors include his wife, Louann Staley of Evansville; son, Jeff (Gina) Staley of Owensville; daughters, Julie (Kevin) McKinney, Lonna Staley both of Evansville;  brothers, Joe (Karen) Staley of Phoenix, Ariz., Roger Staley of North Manchester, John Staley of Fontana, Calif.; six grandchildren, Brent (Calece) McKinney, Christy (Rommel) Seaboy, Valerie McKinney, Rachel Staley, Devin Myers, Natalie Gillespie; four great grandchildren, Elliana McKinney, Ethan McKinney, and Kaya and Khloe Seaboy.

He is preceded in death by a son, Martin Jeffrey; a sister, Lonna Ellen Staley; and a brother-in-law, Ron Wilder.

Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1925 Volkman Road, Evansville.

Visitation will be at 4 p.m. until the service hour on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011 from at the church.
