Mable E. Martin, 93, of Fort Branch, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 13,
2011 at the VNA Charlier
Hospice Center in Evansville.
Born Oct. 19, 1917 in Oakland City,
she was the daughter of the Rev. Temas and Minnie
(Hopper) Taylor.
She was a member of the Fort Branch General Baptist Church. Mabel graduated from Boonville High School in 1935 and was a graduate of the Lockyear Business College. She enjoyed square dancing, traveling, camping with
her husband and loved to cook.
She is survived by her son and his wife,
Charles and Connie Martin of Mentor Ohio; a sister and her husband,
Dorothy and Argle Marshall of Boonville; five
grandchildren, USAF Tec Sgt. James ( Debbie) O"Brien,
Troy (Christina) Hodge, Rodney Hodge, Anthony (Jamie) Hodge, Jonathan (Melissa)
Hodge; 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nepews.
She was preceded in death by her parents;
her husband, Charles W. Martin, who passed away on Nov. 10, 2003; two brothers, Prentice and Walter Taylor; and a
daughter-in-law, Eileen Martin.
A celebration of life will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011 at Stodghill Funeral Home
on Ind. 168 West in Fort Branch, with the Rev. Steve Akins and the Rev. Ken Reeder
officiating.
Visitation will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011 until the service hour at the funeral home.
