Friends and family joined together to
celebrate the life of Ruth Ann Kendle Braselton, 82,
who passed away Feb. 17, 2011.
Mrs. Braselton was born Oct. 28, 1928, in Princeton, Ind. to Paul R. and Laufa E.
Moore Kendle. Her parents, brother
Paul Kendle, Jr., sisters Hazel P. Crandall, Martha
S. Kelly and Maxine Denny in heaven on Feb.17, 2011, embrace her.
Mrs. Braselton was a life long student
attending Greenville
College, Indiana University, Evansville University and Oakland City College earning her bachelor's degree in Education. She met
the love of her life, Walter Jack Braselton, when he needed a music director
and musician for his "Youth For Christ"
services which he was directing in Gibson County, Ind. Mrs. Braselton was a talented musician, playing several
instruments as well as a classically trained vocalist. Mr. and Mrs. Braselton
were married for 63 years and had four children: Daughter Becky Chanudet (John), Rockledge, Fla., son Tim Braselton (Pat), Lees Summit, Mo., Son Paul
Braselton (Elizabeth), Rincon, Ga., and Lizz Braselton, Cocoa Beach, Fla. Eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren
along with numerous nieces, nephews and two sisters, joyfully remember Mrs.
Braselton.
Mrs. Braselton was a pastor's wife as well
as being an ordained pastor in the Free Methodist Church herself. She directed and played music for several churches through out
the years. She started her teaching career as a kindergarten teacher, going on
from there as a principal and special education teacher for the mentally handicapped.
Later she changed careers and was the first administrator of the Owensville
Skilled Nursing Facility in Owensville, Ind. After retiring and moving to Florida with her husband Jack, Mrs. Braselton embarked on
another career challenge and opened, owned and operated Vision Retirement Home
in Melbourne, Fla., until her second retirement in 1983.
Mrs. Braselton was a skilled and imaginative
author and artist, writing many plays, poems and stories which she often used
in the classroom. She often drew many illustrations and drawings for her
stories. Mr. and Mrs. Braselton spent several years traveling in their large
RV, where Mrs. Braselton, being only 4' 8", caused much curiosity and
laughter when climbing out the driver's seat of their large 35' bus RV.
The last four years Mrs. Braselton, along
with her husband Jack, have resided in Rockledge, Fla., with their daughter Becky. The Braselton family
wishes to extend a huge thank you for the thoughtful and loving care received
from your Care of Brevard and Vitas Hospice, allowing dignity and grace to Mrs.
Braselton. A sincere thank-you to Dee, Jackie, Barbara and
Arlene who were daily caregivers. Mrs. Braselton's life and ours were
enriched by your loving care. A memorial service will be held at the Rockledge Church of the Nazarene, Rockledge, Fla., on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at 4 p.m.
