N. Kenneth Overton, 84, of Fort Branch, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Jan.
11, 2011 at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton.
Born March 2, 1926 in Gibson County, he was the son of Alfred and Retha Overton.
Kenny was a member of the Fort Branch General Baptist Church where he was a deacon and Sunday school
superintendent. He was a member of the Carpenters Local 90 for 42 years. Kenny
was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II.
Kenny is survived by his wife of 63 years,
Shirley (Stone) Overton of Fort Branch; a daughter, Kenya A. (Jim) Wade of Fort
Branch; two grandchildren, Jason (Bridget) Wade, Aaron Wade; and two
great-grandchildren, Sydney Noel Palmer and Embree
Wade.
He was preceded in death by his parents;
three brothers; and five sisters.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2011 at Stodghill Funeral Home
located on Ind. 168 West in Fort Branch, with with the Rev, Steve
Akins and the Rev, Tarrell Thompson officiating.
Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch. VFW Post 2714 and American Legion Post 194 will
conduct military rites at the graveside.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011 at the funeral home.
