John R. McGee, 70, passed away Sunday, Jan.23, 2011 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakland City.

Born Sept. 12,1940 in Amherstburg Ontario, Canada, he was the son of  Edmond Franklin and Rose Marie (Webb) McGee.

He was a retired postal worker after 27 years in Crystal River, Fla. He also was former owner of Jones’ Restaurant in Crystal, River, Fla.

Survivors include his wife of 47 year, Mary Lou (Blake) McGee; daughters, Ann Marie Pollard of Beverly Hills, Fla., Kim Renee Young of Las Vegas, Nev.; a sister, Lynn Roda of Beverly Hills, Fla.; three grandchildren; and two step grandchildren

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday Jan. 27. 2011 at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland city with Brother Jeff Bryant officiating. Burial will be Montgomery Cemetery.  

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m.Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until the service hour on Thursday at the funeral home.
