Nyla B. Allen, 89, passed away Friday, Jan. 7, 2011 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.

Born Nov. 19, 1921 in Warrick County, she was the daughter of Quency and Sadie M. (Hester) Brown.

She was a member of the Fort Branch Weslyan Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Brenda Krieg of Fort Branch, Mary Ruedlinger of Evansville, Jeanette Starry of Evansville, Tonya Macer of Evansville; two sisters, Norma Black of Tennyson, Linda Duncan of Evansville; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward G. Allen on Jan. 1, 1985; and brothers, Clifford Brown in 2000 and Gurnade Brown in 2009.

Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011 at at the Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch with burial in Owensville Cemetery .

Visitation was 11 a.m. until the service hour Sunday at the  funeral home.
