Kathryn S. "Kathy" Koca,
60, of Princeton went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday March 26, 2010
at the Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
She was born June 7, 1949 in West Plains, MO the
daughter of Eugene and Dorothy (Newton) Shomate.
Following high school in Oakland City she worked as a legal secretary and then
in the banking business for 16 years retiring in 2004. She was member of the
V.F.W, Post 1147 Ladies Auxiliary in Princeton. She enjoyed traveling with her
husband, watching her grandchildren play sports and just growing up. She
enjoyed crafts of all kinds and especially enjoyed gardening in her many
flowerbeds.
Kathryn is survived by her husband of 10 years, Edward Koca
of Princeton; two sons, Blain (Amanda) Saulmon of
Oakland City and Bryce (Christy) Saulmon of Buckskin;
brother, Carl (Janet) Shomate of Oakland City;
sister, Nancy Tinsley of Princeton; a brother-in-law, John Corcoran of Florida;
four grandchildren, Cassidy, Cameron, Kylie, and Jace;
and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Raylene
Hanlin and Linda Corcoran.
Following cremation, funeral services will be held at the graveside at 10:30
AM, Saturday April 3, 2010 at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton with Chaplin
Carolyn Edwards officiating. Burial will follow the services. After the
services family and friends will gather for a meal at Dick Clarks Family
Restaurant.
There will be no visitation. Colvin Funeral Home in
Princeton is handling the arrangements.
The family would like to thank the Hospice angels of Deaconess Hospice,
especially nurse Sharon, Chaplin Carolyn, Dr. Michael Titzer
and Dr. James Evanson.
