Maxine June (Lee) Walls, 78, of Owensville, died Wednesday, April 8, 2009.

She was born May 9, 1930 in Lawrence County.

Maxine worked for Bedford City Schools and Buck Lemon Furniture as a bookkeeper. She was a member of First Christian Church in Owensville.

Maxine married William Lester Walls June 16, 1950.

Survivors include her son, Eric and wife, Dana; grandchildren, Cody and Erica, all of Owensville; aunt, Mrs. June Hatfield of Bedford; nieces, Mrs. Jeff (Susan) Mundy and Mrs. Verne (Karlynn) Allen of Bedford; nephew, Brian Lee; great niece, Mrs. Danny (Megan) Gillespie; great nephew, Michael Mundy; and several cousins and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lester Walls on Feb. 17, 2000; her parents Farrell Wesley Lee and Ruth Louise (Hawkins) Lee; sister, Rosemary (Lee) Curren; brother, Morris Eugene Lee; and grandson, Daniel Walls.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2009, at the First Christian Church, 302 N. Main St., in Owensville. Cremated remains will be at Cresthaven Memorial Gardens Chapel in Bedford.
