Thomas W. Vinson, 77, of Petersburg, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper.

Born Dec. 22, 1931 in Oatsville, he was the son of Thomas Arthur and Sarah Ann (Tooley) Vinson.

He was employed as an insurance agent for Farm Bureau Insurance. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose since 1960. He was a member of the Main Street Presbyterian Church in Petersburg.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Taggart Vinson of Petersburg; daughter, Zoe Meinhart of Linton; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and son Thomas R. Vinson.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at the Main Street Presbyterian Church in Petersburg with the Rev. Boyd Heldring officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg.

Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, 8-9 a.m. Wednesday both at Harris Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until service time at the church. A Pilgrim service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
