Mary Elizabeth “LIB” (Hitch) Turber, 83, passed away Monday, Jan. 5, 2009 at home.

Born
May 28, 1925 in Princeton, she was the daughter of the Oliver Morton and Frances Meyers (Jollie) Hitch.

 Lib resided in
Princeton until her marriage to Frank on March 25, 1944.  They resided in Mt. Vernon from 1952 until 2006 when they relocated to Solarbron in Evansville.

Lib is survived by her husband of 64 years, Dr. Frank J. Turber; three daughters, Vicki (David) Campbell of New Harmony, Teri (Bob) Royer of Mt. Vernon, Ann (Keith) Goad of Evansville; four grandchildren, Laura Campbell of Fairfax, Va., Dee Royer and Scott Royer of Mt. Vernon, Claire Goad of Evansville; sister, Alice Marie Porter of Riverside, Calif. and her extended family of  grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Dr. Oliver M. Hitch and William Lee Hitch.

 Visitation will be from
10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009 at Schneider Funeral Home, 512 Main St., Mt. Vernon, Ind. with private burial at Bellefontaine Cemetery.
