Robert T. Shoemaker, 88, of Fort Branch, IN, passed away on Monday, Feb. 2, 2009 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville, IN.

He was born to the late John and Louise (Thomas) Shoemaker on Jan. 1, 1921 and was the first baby born in Union Co, KY that year.

He had retired as a test pilot for McDonald Aircraft, Robert Grew up attending St. Benedicts Catholic church in Evansville, he was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Evansville, where he was their entertainment chairman for a number of years. Bob was a state champion in track and field when he attended Bosse High School.

He is survived by his son and his wife, Mike and Miranda Shoemaker of Evansville, IN; 1 sister Mary Louise Arnabaldi of Slingerhand, NY; and his aunt Ruby Cameron of Morganfield, KY.

A prayer service will be conducted at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Evansville on Monday, Feb. 9, 2009 at 2:00 P.M.

There will be no visitation at the Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch.
