Richard Miley, 62, of Gulf Shores, Ala., formerly of Connersville, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 16, 2009.

Born
March 19, 1947 in Princeton, he was the son of Cletis and Wanda Miley.

He was a published poet, an excellent cook, an avid gardener and lover of all things extraordinaire. He was employed as the association manager at the Beach Club Resort.

He was a 1965 graduate of
Princeton High School and a graduate of Indiana State University with a bachelor of arts degree in English and minor in philosophy.

He and his wife spent many years building and loving their landscape and home in rural
Connersville. He enjoyed playing baseball and basketball throughout his life. Gulf Shores, Ala., has been their current home over the last ten years.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Donna McKillip, daughter, Alicia Bacchi and her husband, Eric; grandson, Jack Bacchi of
Indianapolis; sister, Ruth Ann Dunn of Lima, Ohio; nephew, Grant Dunn of San Diego, Calif.; as well as many other loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

 

 

A memorial service is planned from 3-5 p.m. Thursday, May 21 at the home of his daughter, 10430 E. 79th St., Indianapolis, 46236.

A beach memorial will take place Saturday, Aug. 8 in
Gulf Shores.
