Lawrence R. Kinder 89 of Oakland City, IN entered rest on Thursday February 19, 2009 at 6:00 P.M at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakland City, IN.

He was born on February 8, 1920 Spurgeon, IN to Alsie Ray and Nora (Sutton) Kinder.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mable, November 3, 2002, great granddaughter Rebecca Parker and sister Vonda Ashby.

He was employed for 40 years at Dewy Brothers in Princeton, IN.

Surviving family members include his son Steve(Robin)Kinder of Oakland City, IN, daughters: Carolyn (Dick) Cochren of Princeton, IN. Betty (Gary) Helsley of Princeton, IN and Judy (Dean) Liniger of Jasper, IN plus 10 Grandchildren and 19 Great-grandchildren. Sisters, LaVonna Pancake of Campbelltown, IN and Relda Harper of Elwood, IN. Brothers: Gordon Kinder of Texas, John Kinder of Evansville, IN, Earl Kinder of Littles, IN, Don Kinder of Massachusetts and Orrin Kinder of Michigan.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday February 24, 2009 Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Forsythe Cemetery near Oakland City, IN. Rev. Kenneth Thomas will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Monday and from 8:00A.M.until service time on Tuesday at the Chapel.
