Dorothy I. Houchin, 89, of Augusta, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center in Oakland City.

Born Jan. 26, 1920 in Pike County, he was the son of Virgil and Beatrice (Heacock) Sims. 

She married Recil Houchin on Feb. 27, 1937 in Pike County. 

 Survivors include daughter,  Linda (Thomas) Wilkison of Buckskin, two sons, Kenneth Houchin, Augusta, George A. (Glenda) Houchin of Evansville; brother, Doyle Sims of Florida; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Recil Houchin on Sept. 28, 2008; two brothers, Elwood and Eugene Sims; and two sisters, Imogene Carlisle and Margaret Mangel.

 Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., EDT, Monday, June 22, 2009 at Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with the Rev. Robert King officiating. Burial will be in Augusta Cemetery in Augusta.

 Visitation will be at 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
