He was born Dec. 24, 1938 in Princeton He was an Army veteran and retired coal miner, and a member of the Mt. Carmel, Ill., Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.

Survivors include daughter, Jackie Gourley; son, MIchael Gourley; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters; and two brothers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Presley and Gertrude (Parker) Gourley.

A memorial service and benefit is planned at 5 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Mt. Carmel VFW Post.
