Jo Ellen Davis, 96, passed away Monday, June 15, 2009, in Corona, Calif.

She was born Aug. 5, 1912 in Daviess County.

She graduated from Indiana State University and taught for many years in Decker, Crane Naval Depot, Indiana and Mt. Carmel, Ill.

She and her husband lived in West Baden, Ill., Decker, Odon, and Princeton. She was a member of Business & Professional Women, Indiana and Illinois Teacher’s Associations, American Association of University Women and the United Methodist Church.

She moved to California in 1999 from Washington Ind.

Survivors include three daughters, Kay Buescher of Corona, Calif., Lynn Modjeski of Bend, Ore., Dona Stott of Naperville, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don W. Davis; and a daughter.
