Larry J. Weyer, 68, of Princeton, IN, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 9th, 2006 at his residence.

 

He was born on Jan. 14th, 1938 in Evansville, IN to the late Urban, who passed away on Jan. 15, 1984 and Lou Alice (Barnett)Weyer, who passed away on Mar. 1, 1986.

 

Larry was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch, IN, and the American Legion Post #25 in Princeton, IN.  He served in the U.S. Army and after receiving an honorable discharge, Larry also served 4 years in the U.S. Navy. He was also known for his years in the tavern business, such as the Mad Bull, Weeping Willow, Scorpios, and several others. Larry was a retired carpet salesman, having worked for Carpetland USA, and the Carpet Bargain Center both of Evansville. He enjoyed Bar-B-Queing for his friends and family. He also enjoyed golf and making a large garden.  He enjoyed the company of family and friends and being in the outdoors where he loved the open country.

 

Larry is survived by his partner of 24 years and wife of 9 years, Cheryl L. Warren-Weyer of Princeton, IN; 1 son, Kerry Weyer of Evansville, IN; 1 daughter, Shauna Warren of Evansville, IN; 3 sisters, Margaret (Paul) Apple of Lexington, KY, Francis (Sis) Harris of Owensboro, KY, Barbara Jaquess of Princeton, KY; 2 brothers, Raymond Weyer of Newburgh, IN, and Robert Weyer of Calvert City, KY; 4 grandchildren, Melissa, Jacob, Thomas Weyer, and Kaylyn Martin; 2 great grandchildren, Dilan and Dalton Harbert; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

 

A mass of Christian burial will be conducted on Wednesday, Sept. 13th, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch, burial will be in the church cemetery, Father Ted Temple will be the celebrant.

 

Visitation will be on Tuesday, Sept. 12th, 2006 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch, IN, where the church parish will recite the rosary at 7:30 P.M. Tuesday evening.
