John Robert “Bob” Reuber, 86, of Fort Branch IN died Monday October 31, 2005 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville IN

 

He was born on October 27, 1919 to the late John A and Mamie (Schmidt) Reuber in Mt Carmel IL

 

He worked as a truck driver for Emge Meat Packing in Fort Branch for many years. He was a Navy veteran of WW II, a charter member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch, at one time he had been President of the Holy Name Society, had been a member of the Fort Branch Park Board, a member of the V.F.W Post 2714, Haubstadt K of C. and the American Legion of Haubstadt.

 

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Collin Reuber and a son-in-law Jim Mead.

 

He is Survived by his wife of 64 Years Alvina (Oing) Reuber; four children, Sue Mead of Evansville IN, Dave and Pam Reuber of Dayton Ohio, Stan and Diane Reuber of Plano Texas and Sharon and Keith Kutzler of Evansville IN; 12 grandchildren, Barry and Krista Mead, Rob Mead, Michelle and Randy Meuenschwander, Eric and Patti Reuber, Laura and Wade Shindlebower, Kyle and Erin Reuber, Kori and Isaac Robinson, Emily Kutzler, Kasey Kutzler, Matthew Reuber and Dustin Reuber; one sister, Lucille Huelsman of Fort Branch, IN; 17 great grandchildren, Rachel Mead, Andrew Mead, Tyler Neuenschwander, Nicole Neuenschwander, Kathleen Reuber Joshua Reuber, Stephen Reuber, Wade Shindlebower, III , Rachel Reuber, Shannon Reuber, Megan Reuber, Rebecca Reuber, Emma Reuber, Allison Reuber, Carlee Shindlebower, Cole Shindlebower, Zoee Robinson.

 

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 2, 2005 from 3 to 8 PM at Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy 168 West in Fort Branch, IN, with a prayer service to be held at 7:30 P.M.  A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday November 3 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch with Father Tony Ernst and Father Paul Fergusen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military burial conducted by the VFW Post 2714 of Fort Branch.
