Nathan A McIntosh, Jr, 76, of Haubstadt, IN passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.

 

He was born on June 7, 1932 in Evansville, IN, to the late Nathan A McIntosh, Sr. and Thelma (Reich) McIntosh.

 

Also preceding him in death is a son Keith McIntosh on July 26, 1959 a Sister Lois Kennada and a brother Andrew J McIntosh.

 

He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, he was a Korean War Veteran having served in the US Marine Corp. from 1952 to 1954. He was a life member of Haubstadt American Legion Post 194, Life Member of VFW Post 2714, Life member of the DAV chapter 18, Life member of AMVET 94.  He was a member of the Haubstadt Knights of St John where he was a 4th degree and the Haubstadt Knights of Columbus. He was a member of 40 and 8, Voyauger 108, AARP, and was an active volunteer for Susan G Komen Cancer Foundation. He was a retired shipping and receiving clerk for General Foods in Evansville IN.

 

He is survived by his wife of 52 years Shirley (Claspell) McIntosh; 2 daughters, Kristina (Jeff) Fields of Evansville IN and Anna (Tim) Butler of Wadesville IN; 1 son Alan (Beth)McIntosh of Ashland KY; Nathan is also survived by one brother Charles McIntosh of Evansville IN and a sister Carolyn Mayes also of Evansville IN ; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

 

A mass of Christian burial will be conducted for Nathan on Monday, Oct. 27, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at Sts Peter and Paul Church in Haubstadt IN, with burial in the church cemetery with military graveside services conducted by VFW Post 2714 and American Legion Post 194.

 

Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 PM Sunday at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy 168 West in Fort Branch where there will also be a Rosary by the church parish at 6:00 PM.  And he will lie in state at the church from 9:00 AM until service time on Monday.
