Norma Jean Hillyard, 79, of Princeton, IN, was born March 23rd, 1928 in Fort Branch, IN to Rudolf and Flora Blum, passed away, Tuesday, Oct. 23rd, 2007 at Deaconess Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer.

 

She was retired after many years of local employment. She loved attending her grandkids sporting events and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. She also enjoyed painting landscapes. What made her the happiest, was spending time with her family. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Princeton, IN. 

Preceding her in death are her parents, one sister Mary Lucille Dewig, three brothers, Carl Homer, Kenneth, and Owen Blum.

 

Surviving are her children, Mike (Kathy) Hillyard, Connie (Greg) Moore, Mark (Susan) Hillyard, Debbie (Todd) McConnell, and Teresa (Matthew) Foster. Seven grandchildren, Alicia, Zachary, and Derek Moore, Amanda Hillyard, Bradley Ott, Joshua, and Justin Foster. Six step grandchildren, Brian Sims, Dana Query, Heather King, Nathan, Cassey, and Brittney McConnell. One great granddaughter, Alexandra Harris. Four step great grandchildren, MaKayla, and Breanna Query, Ethan, and Emma Sims. Also surviving are her sisters Kathryn Blum, Bonnie Gayer, and Thelma (Larry) Allen.

 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Oct. 26, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch, IN. , with Rev. John Step Officiating, burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch, IN.

 

Vistation will be one hour prior to service time on Friday at the funeral home.
