Lt. Col. Raymond G. Hacker (Ret.,) 92, died February 22, 2008, in Troy, Michigan.

 

He was born August 2, 1915 in Vincennes, Indiana to the late George and Josephine Hacker.

 

He retired from the US Army Corps of Engineers after 20+ years of service. His career included tours of duty in Japan, Korea, Germany, Taiwan, Greenland and numerous posts within the continental U.S. He and his wife, Alice, retired to Haubstadt, Indiana in 1979.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, of 61 years, Alice (Tenbarge) Hacker, in 2004.

 

He is survived by his daughter, Linda Good and her husband, Mike, of Troy, Michigan; his son, Dan Hacker and his wife, Mary, of Fairfax, Virginia; two brothers, Harland “Bud” Hacker of Fort Branch, IN. and J.R. “Bob” Hacker of Minneapolis, MN; two sisters, Marie Oexman of Decker, IN, and Helena Morrison of Evansville, IN; 4 grandchildren, Kimberly, Jennifer, Raymond and Kevin; 6 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

 

Friends may call from noon to 2 pm at Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Ft. Branch, Indiana on Monday February 25, 2008.

 

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Kurt Horstmeyer officiating. Burial will be at the St. Peters & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Haubstadt, Indiana, with graveside military rites conducted by the Fort Branch VFW Post 2714.
