J. Vance Foster of Fort Branch, IN, died on January 14th, 2007, he was 89 years old.
He was born to the late Eden
L. and Ola (Mangrum) Foster
on June
21, 1917 in Fort Branch, IN.
Vance was a retired engineer
after a long careeer with Potter and Brumfield in Princeton, IN, he was an active participant in the Gibson County
Historical Society, a member of the National Society of the Sons of the
American Revolution, an ardent hobbyist, and an Elder and a Deacon of the Fort
Branch First Presbyterian Church.
His wife of 68 years
Elizabeth “Betty” survives along with his son Jack and his wife, Frances, of
New Orleans, La., grand daughters Reghan and her
husband Albert of West Redding, Connecticut, and Rayne Selleh
and her husband Larry of Edgewater, Maryland, Great Grandsons, Nelson Hudson,
and Jack Diaz, and Great Granddaughters, Sloan and Peyton Selleh.
Services for Vance will be Wednesday,
January 17, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at the Fort Branch First Presbyterian Church, Reverend Tarrell Thompson
will be officiating, with burial in the Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch, IN.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, January
16, 2007 at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch, IN from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., and again
at the church on Wednesday, from 1:00 P.M. until service time.
