Angelyn Brumfield, 93, of Fort Branch, Indiana died Tuesday, December 2, 2004 at the Hearth and Home Care Center in Springfield, Ohio.

 

She was born in Gibson County on December 27, 1910 the daughter of Ada and Jesse McCarty.

 

She was a graduate of Ft. Branch High School, University of Evansville, and Indiana State University. For many years, she taught third grade in the Owensville Public Schools. Following her retirement, she enjoyed the farm, traveled and volunteered at the Owensville Nursing Home. She was a life-long member of the Ft. Branch First Presbyterian Church where she was an ordained elder and served in numerous ways.

 

Angie was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Brumfield; and a daughter Linda Bridgeman.

 

She is survived by two sons, Gordon of Edgewater, Maryland and Wayne and his wife Edna of Powell, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Gary of Fairborn, Ohio, Mark and wife Cindy of Bowie, Maryland, Jesse of North Carolina, Tom of Florida, Robin and husband Skip Cutting of Dallas, Texas, Kent Bridgeman of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Bryan Bridgeman of Chicago, Illinois; three great-grandchildren, Trevor and Kirsten children of Gary and Kyle son of Mark; a niece Nancy Harper of Ft. Branch; and a nephew Robert Phillips of Henderson, Kentucky.

 

Visitation will be at the Stodghil Funeral Home in Ft. Branch located on Hwy. 168 West on Tuesday, December 7, 2004 from 4 until 8 p.m. and again on Wednesday, December 8, 2004 from 9 until service time at the funeral home.

 

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Sam Sterrett officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Moriah cemetery beside her husband and other family members.
