Von D. Maikranz, 71, of Mackey, IN went on to be with the Lord, Sunday, July 8, 2007 at his home.

He lived all of his lifetime in the Mackey area. He was born February 3, 1936 in Mackey to John & Lucy “Opal” (Hyslop) Maikranz who preceded him in death along with his 2 brothers, Dale & Donald Maikranz.

Von graduated from Mackey High School in 1954 and after that joined the United States Marine Corp. He retired from Whirlpool. He was an elder at the Living Word Fellowship in Somerville and was a great teacher of God’s Word. Von also loved to go camping and fishing.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 32 years, Marietta (Dyson) Maikranz; his children and their spouses, Keith & Terrie Maikranz of Vero Beach, FL; Kevin & Jackie Maikranz of Buckskin; Kent & Tara Maikranz of Beaver Dam, KY; Kim & Shelly Maikranz of Louisville, KY; Margo Hendricks of Newburgh; Christine Thorne of Oakland City; Jessee & Lynn Drew of Newburgh; Thomas & Melissa Drew of Newburgh; Sarah & Rod Gendron of Evansville; 24 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Robert & Danny Maikranz of Ft. Branch, & Tom Maikranz of Francisco; and 2 sisters, Dorothy Georges of Mackey and Nola Maikranz of Ft. Branch.

The family would like to thank the Living Waters Hospice for all their care and help.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at 10 A.M. at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City with the Pastor Bob Feldmeier officiating. Burial will be at the Providence Cemetery in Francisco. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Oakland City American Legion.

Friends may visit Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until service time at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home.
