Howard L. Luff, 88, of Oakland City passed away Friday, November 9, 2007 at the Beverly Living Center in Petersburg.

He had lived in Oakland City for the past 13 years coming from the Spurgeon area.

He was born August 10, 1919 in Pike County, Indiana to Henry and Lucinda (McClure) Luff who preceded him in death. 

Howard was a farmer and worked at Old Ben Coal #1. He was also a member of the UMWA Local #5179. 

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Opal (Cannon) Luff; daughter & son-in-law, Rita & David Williams of Spurgeon; son Steve Luff of Florida; 2 grandchildren, Beth Bohnert and Bruce Williams; and 3 great grandchildren, Brandon, Jacob, & Natalie Bohnert. 

Private services will be held at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, Indiana. Burial will be in the Spurgeon Cemetery.
