Mr. Arthur Jeide, 88, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2005, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakland City

He was born in Buckskin,
Ind., to John and Augusta Kleiman Jeide, but had lived in Mackey since 1941.

 

He was a member of the Mackey Salem United Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee and youth counselor for many years. He was a WWII Army veteran, serving in the Pacific area with the 312th Bomb Group, where he earned the rank of staff sergeant. He was a member of the Somerville American Legion. He was the owner operator of the Jeide Feed Mill in Mackey and was a Barton Township school bus driver. He also was a cross-country truck driver and a farmer. He was on the board of directors for Pike Gibson Water. 

His wife of 63 years, Mata, passed away on
February 13, 2005

Also preceded him in death were his parents, 2 sisters, Mildred Morris and Mabel Kramer, and a brother, Russell Jeide

He is survived by 22 nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services
2 p.m. Wednesday at the Mackey Salem United Methodist Church, the Rev. Matt Malin officiating, burial in Albright Cemetery.

 

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City and from noon to service time Wednesday at the church.
