Dorothy Izor,
87, of Princeton, Indiana died April 16th, 2008 at Gibson General Hospital.
She was born on June 27, 1920 in Logansport, Indiana to Dr. William Ray Davis and Iola Fitzgerald Davis.
She was preceded in death by
her husband of 45 years, James W. "Jack" Izor.
Dorothy was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, dancing, and joking among friends. Her smile lit up a room, and her kitchen was
fondly referred to as "Dort’s Diner" because of her fabulous meals. Her
family and friends believed she made the best goulash in the country. For most
of her life, Dorothy could be found on the golf course on a beautiful day; or
on a dance floor if music were playing. She was described as being able to
"cut a rug" with the best of them. Dorothy was a member of St. Joseph
Catholic Church, the VFW Women’s Auxiliary, and the Princeton Country Club.
Dorothy is survived by four daughters, Sue Baughman of Louisville, Kentucky, Jan Cunningham (Steve) of Petersburg, Indiana, Barbara Hart of Owensboro, Kentucky, and Julie Johnson (Phil) of Bloomington, Illinois. She also leaves behind grandchildren Chris Baughman
(Shari), and Jason Baughman (Amy), of Louisville, Kentucky, Amber Phillips
(Branson) of Raleigh, North Carolina, Megan Vanzant
(Jason) of Emerald Isle, North Carolina, Ian Hart (Allison) of Paducah,
Kentucky, Evan Hart of Huntsville, Alabama, Steffan
Hart of Owensboro, Kentucky, Mikelle and Quinn
Johnson and Claire Satkamp of Bloomington, Illinois,
plus 5 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton on Friday, April 18, 2008 from 4 until 7 PM.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM,
Saturday
April 19, 2008 at the St.
Joseph Catholic Church in Princeton with Fr. Ron Zgunda
officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Princeton.
