Roy C. Hunt, 76, passed away
on Wednesday
November 7, 2007 at the Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
Roy was a retired service representative at the Marion
Power Shovel Company and was a coal miner at Old Ben Coal Company for 10 years.
He formerly ran Hunt Machine in Francisco. He served in the United States Army
during the Korean Conflict and had attended the Francisco General Baptist Church.
He worked hard to take care of his family. He was an avid UK basketball fan. He enjoyed taking his family and
participating in horse shows. He was a former secretary/treasurer of the
Atkinson Chapel Cemetery Board.
He was born on October 16, 1931 in Gibson County to Gus & Helen (Crecelius)
Hunt, both deceased. Also preceding him in death were his 5 brothers and 1
sister.
Roy is survived by his wife of 56 years, Colleen Hunt of Francisco; 2 daughters
and sons-in-law, Laura Dawn & Jon Phillips and Lisa Shawn & Scott Grace
all of Evansville; beloved grandson, Blake Phillips; beloved granddaughter,
Jessica Phillips; and 1 sister, Maxine Jones of Bloomington.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:30 PM
on Saturday November 10, 2007 at the Atkinson Chapel Cemetery in Oatsville with the Rev.
Duane Biggs officiating.
Friends may visit from 12 noon until 2 PM
on Saturday at the Colvin Funeral Home, and will then go in procession to the
cemetery. VFW Post #1147 will conduct military graveside services.
