Valentine A. "Bud" Hertling age 92 of Princeton passed away Saturday morning Sept. 22, 2007 at the River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton.
He was a former Oil Field
Engineer working for Schlumberger Well Surveying and had worked at F&M Building and Home Supply in Princeton for ten years.
Bud was born Dec. 31, 1914 in Gibson County, IN to Fred and Philamenia (Petrey) Hertling who preceded him
in death.
He had lived in Princeton for over 50 years moving here from Evansville. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mt. Carmel, and a member of the Oil and Gas Association
He is survived by his wife Edna Mae Hertling, to who
he had been married for 56 years, exchanging their vows on Feb. 14, 1951. Also surviving is a brother-in-law and his wife,
Ralph and Naomi Humphrey, Sims IL, sister-in-law, Edythe
Hassett, Rising Sun, IN, several nieces and nephews
and caring friends, Dean and Sandy Ross, Bill and Charlene McConnell, Charley
and Jannie Kiesel, and Sue Brucks.
Funeral Services will be 10 a.m.
Tuesday
Sept. 25, 2007 at the Colvin
Funeral Home with Fr. Ron Zgunda officiating burial
will follow at the Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, IL.
Visitation will be from 9
a.m. until the service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. The family would
like to thank the staff of River Oaks Health Campus and Southern Care Hospice
for care given to Bud.
