Elder Edmond L. Harris, 77, of Patoka, IN went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton

Elder Harris was born
June 15, 1930, in Patoka, Indiana to the late Eliza and William Harris.

 

He married the love of his life Frances Lee Harris, in 1950. They were married for fifty-seven wonderful years.

 

Elder Edmond Harris was a devoted pastor of Bunker Hill General Baptist Church in Vincennes, Indiana, since 1978. Besides being a full time pastor he was also a devoted farmer. He was an outstanding citizen of Patoka, Indiana his entire life. He began his career at Chrysler Motor Company until the plant relocated to St. Louis. He then worked at several local companies until he began his career with North Gibson County School Corporation where he drove the school bus for twenty-three years or so. He was affectionately known as the “Country Preacher”, always available for weddings, funerals, baptisms, counseling, and had an open heart to help anyone. 

Edmond Lee Harris is survived by his wife, Frances Lee Harris, two brothers, William Harris of
Princeton, IN and James Robert Harris of Indianapolis, IN, sister, Mary Phelps of Indianapolis, IN and sister, Flora Jean Jackson of Princeton, IN. He is also survived by his children, Linda Agnew of Indianapolis, IN, Eddie Harris (Kristi) of Patoka, IN, Pamela Johnson (Sam) of Patoka, IN, Priscilla Davis (Edwin) of Noblesville, IN, Brenda Tryon (Dan) of Terre Haute, IN, Ann Hunt (Chris) of Connersville, IN, Leah Brackins (Dale) of Los Angeles, CA, Ruth Ann Wallis (Kenneth) of San Diego, CA, Crystal Ochoa (Adam) of San Diego, CA and Christina Swanson of Indianapolis, IN. Edmond is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 16 great-grand children and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 1 P.M. (CST) at the Oasis Assembly of God in Princeton with Brother Jay Howder, Rev. Al Banister and Elder William McClendon officiating. Burial will be at the
Oak Hill Cemetery in Patoka, IN.

 

A wake will be held Friday, January 4, 2008 from 4 until 8 p.m.(CST) at the Colvin Funeral Home, 425 N. Main Street, Princeton, IN and Saturday from 12 noon(CST) until the funeral hour at Oasis Assembly of God.
