JED D. HADFIELD age 93 of St. Louis MO. Died Wednesday Dec. 7, 2005, at his home. He was born in Princeton, IN Oct. 29, 1912 to Bert George and Isabelle (Wagner) Hadfield. Jed was a professional musician playing piano and
organ for different events clubs and weddings. Prior to April, 1958 when he
moved from Robinson, IL to St. Louis, he played for sixteen years, six nights a week at
the Robinson Elks Lodge where he was a member, while also working for the
refinery there. Music was his life. He played music in the St. Louis area from 1958 to 2004. He was a member of the Church
of the Open Door United Church of Christ in St. Louis, where he served the Minister of Music from 1993 to
2004. He was a member of the American Federation of Musicians. He did piano tuning
and repairs, also wrote a book on piano tuning.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irma Louise (Bratton) Hadfield
in 1981 as will as his parents.
Jed is survived by 3 daughters and 2 son-in-laws; Carolyn Louise and William Mulcahy and Martha Marie Hadfield
of St. Louis; Ramona Jeannine and Newton Hawthorne of Forsyth MO; 2
grandchildren Robert Scott Hawthorne and Christopher K, Hawthorne.
He has 3 sisters: Wilma J. Eck, Vincennes; Imogene Bishop, Indianapolis, IN; and Mary Shelton, Pensacola, FL; and a brother George Hadfield,
Nashville, TN.
Funeral Services will be 1 p.m.
Saturday
December 10, 2005 at the
Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Ken Kramer officiating, burial will be
in the Walnut Hill Cemetery in Ft. Branch. Friends may call at the Colvin Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
