Alice Ann Gwaltney, 63, passed away at 10:15 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, 2004 at Gibson General Hospital, in Princeton.

Alice was born in Princeton on Aug. 29, 1941, was a graduate of Princeton High School, class of 1959, and had lived in Princeton again since 1986, moving from Norris City, Ill.

She was a homemaker and loved flowers, and playing golf. She was a ladies auxiliary member of both VFW Post 1147 and American Legion Post 25, in Princeton. Alice was a former registered emergency medical technician and helped start the Norris City Community Ambulance Service. 

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Joseph and Fern (Pellum) Newton, and two sisters, Ruth Blaize and Jean Newton. 

Survivors include her husband of 18 years, Jack Gwaltney; a daughter and son-in-law, Sabrina and Eric Austin, of Mt. Vernon, Ind.; a son, Gene Dillsworth, of Norris City, Ill.; a step-son and his wife, Mike and Katina Joann Gwaltney, of Greenfield, Ind.; a step-daughter, Terri Gwaltney, of Washington, D.C.; a grandson, Kyle Austin; two step-grandchildren, Teagan Shea and William Michael Gwaltney; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Frieda and Bill Smith, of Princeton, and Marilyn and Wayne Dearing, of Owensville; a brother and sister-in-law, Donald "Bud" and Flo Newton, of Princeton; a brother-in-law, Ralph Blaize, of Bedford, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services for Alice will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004 at the Colvin Funeral Home, in Princeton, officiated by Rev. Tom Stiles.

Friends may call for visitation from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Colvin Funeral Home. Burial will be at Columbia "White" Church Cemetery, in Princeton.
