Jerry Lee "Jake" Foster, 74, of Princeton, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005 at the North Park Nursing Center, in Evansville following a brief illness.

 

He was born Feb. 16, 1930 in Evansville, the fifth of seven children to Elwood and Maude (Pierce) Foster, both deceased. 

His oldest brother, Elwood Jr. died July 1991. 

He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the VFW Post 1147. He retired as custodian of
St. Joseph Catholic School, in Princeton

He is survived by sons, Brian and Bruce, four grandchildren and a great-grandchild, all of California; brothers, Bill, of Vincennes, Frank and John, both of Princeton; sisters, Betty (Foster) Lindy, of Fairborn, Ohio and Mary Alice (Foster) Kimbrough, of Richmond; an uncle, George Hedge and his wife Shirley, of Princeton; an aunt, Virginia (Hedge) Osborne and her husband Joe, of Knoxville, Tenn; several cousins, nephews and nieces. 

Colvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and will follow the deceased's request for cremation without visitation. A family burial and service will take place at a later date.
