Harvey A. Embry Sr., 80, died Monday, Nov. 14, 2005 at his home near Winslow.

 

He was born in Nufus, Ky. to Clinton and Lissie (Lindsey) Embry. 

He worked for many years as a roofer and was a member of the Roofers Union #106. He had attended the
Mt. Tabor Church

His wife, Dorothy (Corn) Embry, died in January. 

He is survived by children, Mary Pickerill, of Chandler, Harvey Embry Jr., of Boonville, Marta Nelson and Martha Freeze, both of Jasper; step children, Betty Jo Spears, of Indianapolis, Bill Bush, of Winslow and Judy Bible, of Sebring, Fla.; brothers, Basil Embry, of Yankeetown, Lonnie Embry, of Christney and Otto Embry, of Hatfield; a sister, Evie Bratcher, of Yankeetown; 14 grandchildren; 11 step grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and five step grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Ina Rae Meyers and Janice Embry; a son, Tonnie Embry; two brothers, Damon and Orvil Embry; and two sisters, Pauline Hollen and Betty Burton. 

Funeral services will be at
2 p.m. Friday at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with the Rev. Wayne Rowland officiating. Burial will be in the Augusta Cemetery.

 

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
