Dorothy I. Embry, 83, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home, in Oakland City.

 

She was born in Oakland City in 1921 to Gaskell and Flossie Ferguson Corn. 

She was a homemaker and lived in the Winslow area for the past 30 years. She attended
Mt. Tabor Church

She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Janice Sue Embry and Ina Rae Meyers; a son, Tonnie Embry; and two brothers, John Doughty and Kenneth Corn. 

She is survived by her husband, Harvey Embry Sr.; children, Betty Jo Spears, of Indianapolis, Bill Bush, of Winslow and Judy Bible, of Sebring, Fla.; step-children, Mary Pickerill, of Chandler, Harvey Embry Jr., of Boonville, Marta Nelson, of Jasper and Martha Freeze, of Jasper; a brother, Charles Doughty, of Brazil, Ind.; two sisters, Lucille Perkinson, of Plainfield and Mary Helen Lee, of Tampa, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several step great grandchildren. 

Funeral service will be at
1 p.m. Tuesday at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with burial in Augusta Cemetery, with the Rev. Wayne Rowland officiating.

 

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday and from 8 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
