Mr. James Earls, 68, of Winslow, IN. passed away Thursday, Aug.18, 2005 in the St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville.

 

He was born in Princeton, IN. on Apr. 28, 1937 to Tom and Velma (Truckey) Earls.

 

He retired from the Jasper Holiday Inn after 14 years in Maintenance. He was a Vietnam era army veteran and was Vice-Commander of the Winslow American Legion Post # 115. He was a member of the Winslow Eagles Arie # 2426, the I.V.F.A. and the South Patoka Fire Dept. He served as a Boy Scout Leader for 15 years. He was a member of the Oakland City Lion’s Club and the Storm Team. He also served as a police officer in Owensville, IN. for 5 years. 

He is survived by his wife, LaDonna (Russell).  Children: James A. Earls – Otwell, IN; Jeff Earls – Winslow; Alan Bottoms – Indianapolis, IN; Jason Bottoms – Winslow; 2 sisters: Martha Lewis and Patty Brow – Oakland City; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. 

Funeral Services will be at
10 a.m. Monday at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, IN. with the Rev. Terry Beadles officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Winslow. The Winslow American Legion will provide military honors at the cemetery. 

Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The I.V.F.A. will conduct a memorial service Sunday evening at the funeral home.
