Adron A. (Ab) Dillon, 85, of Princeton, died at 11:10 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2005
at his home in Princeton.
He was born June 24, 1919 in Gibson County.
He lived most of his lifetime in Princeton, coming from Wheeling. He was a retired chief of the Princeton Police
Department, where he worked for over 21 years. He was a World War II U.S. Army
veteran and a member of the Bethel Memorial Church. He was also a life member of Princeton Elks 634, a
member of American Legion Post 25 and VFW Post 1147. He was an avid Princeton High
School
sports booster.
He was preceded in death by his wife, June, in 1996; his parents, John and
Mattie (Hunt) Dillon; and 10 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by daughters, Beverly Ellis, of New Bern, N.C. and Patricia Bigham, of Evansville; four grandchildren, Christopher Ellis, Angela Nicole
Gonzales, David Bigham and Jason Bigham;
and four great-grandchildren, Kevin Ellis, Megan Ellis, Brena
Ellis and Tre Gonzales.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m.
Sunday at Bethel Memorial Church, with Pastor Kevin Wilson and the Rev. Tom Stiles
officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olive Cemetery. VFW 1147 will conduct military graveside services.
Friends may call at the
Colvin Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Saturday and from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday at the church.
