Marty Joe Deputy, age 31, of Oakland City past away Tuesday morning at his home.

 

He was born in Princeton, IN on Mar. 23, 1977 to Harold and Jo Ann (Grant) Deputy.

 

He was an English teacher and Varsity Football Coach at Pike Central High School in Petersburg. He was previously an assistant Football Coach at Jasper High School and former head Wrestling Coach at Wood Memorial High School where he also taught English. 

Marty graduated from
Wood Memorial High School in 1995 and received his Bachelors Degree from Oakland City University. He had lived in Oakland City area all of his life.  He was a member of the Indiana Teachers Association and Indiana Football Coaches Association. 

He is survived by his parents Harold and Jo Ann Deputy, Oakland City, five brothers; Mike Deputy, Ft. Branch, Mark Deputy, Oakland City, Max (Sharon) Deputy, Francisco, Mitchell Deputy, Oakland City and Matt (Sarah) Deputy, Princeton, nine nieces and nephews, Brian and Krista Deputy, Laurie Long, Brandon and Brooke Deputy, Haley, Tyler, Lane, and Maverick Deputy. 

Funeral services will be
10 a.m. Friday Sept. 5, 2008 at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with the Rev. Matt Malin officiating. Burial will follow in the Forsythe Cemetery near Oakland City.

 

Visitation will be from 2 until 8 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. until service time on Friday.
