Harold Gene Davenport, 74, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004 at St. Mary's Medical Center, in Boonville.

 

He was born in Saline County, Ill. on March 20, 1920, to Albert Joel and Olive Iola (Bishop) Davenport

He worked as a dispatcher for the former City Cab, worked for the Civil Defense and also worked in the engineering department at WRAY radio, in
Princeton. He lived in Princeton most of his life, moving there from Saline County, Ill. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and was an avid amateur radio operator. 

He is survived by two sons, Tim Davenport, of Winslow and Kenny Hunt, of Harrisburg, Ill.; two daughters, Cindy Stocker, of Patoka and Sheila Kasinger, of Princeton; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. 

Graveside services will be at
11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, 2004 at the Raleigh Masonic Cemetery, in Raleigh, IL, with the Rev. Ruben Schwieger officiating.

 

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Colvin Funeral Home.
