Charles E. Cromer, 80, passed
away on Monday March 26, 2007
at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville.
Charles married Esther
Williams July 24, 1954. He was a retired farmer and also worked at
International Harvester in Evansville
from 1947-1956. He is a member of St. John’s Church of Buckskin. He is one of the founding members of the
Buckskin Volunteer Fire Dept. of which he still belonged. He served in the Army
during the Korean War from 1950-1957. He also belonged to the Somerville
American Legion.
He was born on July 9, 1926 in Buckskin to Mike & Laura Cromer, both deceased. Also preceding
him in death were his brothers, Dorris, Kenny and
Willie Cromer; 3 sisters, Ruby, Laverne, and Edna.
Charles is survived by his 2 sons, Larry Cromer of Mackey and Ron (Darlene)
Cromer of Buckskin; 2 grandsons, Bryan Cromer of Ft. Branch and Danny Joe Wade
of Oakland City; 2 step-grandsons, Tony and Robin Gouverneur
of Buckskin; 3 sisters, Lillian Butler of New Harmony, Elsie Cromer of
Princeton, and Mildred (Mic) Lowencamp
of Princeton.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday March 29, 2007 at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City with the Rev. Frank Sapp officiating. Burial will be
at the St.
John’s Cemetery in Buckskin.
Friends may visit from 4
until 8 PM on Wednesday at the Corn-Colvin Funeral home. Somerville
American Legion will conduct military services.
